Cuckoo Label. Hawaiian guitar
Stromberg Voisinet, Made in Chicago, later to become the Kay guitar company.
Hawaiian guitar. Cuckoo inside label and on teh 3D plastic logo for the headstock.
Beech body nice figured top, antique finish with Hawaiian scene Palm trees, beach and rising moon.
decal. Ornate check purfling. Pearloid fingerboard and pickguard.
Recent neck reset. Original pyramid end bridge reglued. Original ebony bridge pins with pearl dots.
The tuners are original vintage Waverly.
Note a small split tin the back laminate as shown further down in this description and photos.
Great looks and great vintage tone.
A fine example and a wonderful addition to any vintage guitar collection.

ADDITIONAL NOTES KINDLY EMAILED TO ME RECENTLY FROM A GREAT GUITARS VIEWER-VISITOR
‘Cuckoo’ was the house brand for the firm of C.H.McFarland Ltd, who had a number of stores throughout NSW during the 20’s & 30’s. I believe they went out of business around 1934/5. Their main centre was in Wagga Wagga, I think! You will see from the advt attached below that they put ‘Cuckoo’ on everything they sold! I sourced the advt from the ’Trove’ website – it’s from about 1926!
I suspect that the guitars they sold during that period were built by Stromberg-Voisinet (later Kay) in the US. Their banjo-mandolins were supplied by George Houghton & Sons of Birmingham, UK.
