Sunburst finish. Flame maple figured top back and sides. 3 piece rock maple neck.
Gold hardware with velvet-tune machine heads.

Ibanez Super 80 “flying finger” Pickups

Otherwise perfect with the original case also in great condition. The only signs of ageing are the original gold pickup covers, especially the neck pickup, being tarnished ( lost some of it’s gold plating ) due to the vapours from the original celluloid pickguard deteriorating. That part being professionally remade using non-celluloid material acetate but managing to save and re-use the original multi binding from that guard. A very nice result.

Additional notes and comments on body binding:
I’ve also since noticed body binding age deterioration to a small degree, worthy of comment and additional photos but certainly not inconsistent with a vintage Ibanez This can mainly be seen around the front and back lower bass bout edges. No deterioration on the neck binding. Please see additional photos just uploaded.

A very difficult task, out of 30 photos, I can only manage to show how slight the effect is in these four following pictures.
