Vintage 1955 HOFNER 461 S Jazz guitar . Black finish
Made in Germany.
Recent neck reset, set-up and detail.
The guitar does show some deterioration in the celluloid outer binding to the body, both front and back edges.
Tuners are original but the have had the buttons changed to oval Ivoroid
A few expected genuine wear marks chips and scratches but his guitar is very good for it’s age and rarity.
The top is solid carved spruce, the back, sides and neck are Maple.
Featuring the stylistic F holes sometimes referred to as ‘Seal and ball’
The neck is slightly bowed with some relief, frets are in good order.
Bound neck, rosewood fingerboard with multi striped celluloid fingerboard markers.
Comes with a modern standard hard case.
