Product description from Achillies Amps website.
The Tweed 59 Bassman influenced many amp builders to replicate or to improve the circuit in there own way. Marshall would be the first to do so back when they released the JTM45 in ’62. The Bassman is a clean amp at low volumes and when cranked boasts a creamy overdrive, its no wonder why its everyone’s favorite iconic amp. This is the reason why we decided to replicate this Tweed amp first and we made sure we cut no corners to offer you one of the finest amplifiers on the planet.
Hand Wired and without question nailed the tone like back in ’59. Our very own branded Achillies power capacitors for ultimate tone and stability have been adapted to the build. Strictly requested (knot free) Radiata pine when building our cabinets, which gives that perfect balance we need to offer you the finest amplifiers on the market. Constructed with Traditional Dovetail Joinery and wrapped with authentic Fender Tweed cloth covering or select our range of tolex covering options. We have gone to great lengths to apply the tweed cloth that the pattern will flow in the same direction anywhere you look at the cabinet, as did the originals. To finish the cabinet we have applied 2 heavy coats of Nitrocellulose lacquer to protect your amplifier for years to come.
