• Just arrived as a consignment sale. This is a third or fourth owner guitar since 1926 and that has been in the most recent owner’s possession from approx.1992. In that year, 1992, considerable restoration work was performed by the renowned Chris Kinman workshop in Brisbane. Work performed included neck reset, side crack repair, make and fit a new ebony bridge ( The original bridge included, taped to the lid of old case ). A new internal bridge plate also made and fitted. 5 original style frets were also hand made and fitted. Details of all assessment and work done included in the documentation. The guitar has not been used or played since that restoration and the guitar is still structurally excellent today. This wonderful vintage collectable guitar is in very good playing order, The neck angle is correct, straight and has no issues. The body is structurally sound, no loose braces, no issues. The finish back of the body has significant abrasion and scratching due to the poor condition original case not having been cloth lined. The guitar recently being polished and timber replenishing oiled, certainly has improved and will continue to be improved with repeated care, treatment and use. The sound is as one would expect from a desirable vintage aged instrument. Tone and projection and a sensation to feel and hear. Playability is very good but would be improved and have a smoother feel with a touch more radius shaped to the bone bridge and I’m happy to do that for the buyer if requested to do so.
• Freshly serviced and set-up with 10-47 acoustic strings.
• The guitar is being sold in it’s original case although I highly recommend the buyer treat this special purchase with a modern, fitting plush lined case to give appropriate protection for the decades ahead.
