1961 Hofner electric archtop Jazz guitar Model 468 Vintage Brunette finish.

1961 Hofner electric archtop Jazz guitar Model 468 Vintage , Brunette finish.
SOLD

In very fine condition.  The 468 model is very closely associated with the top end big body models, 470 and Committee’s.  With bowtie inlays on an ebony fingerboard, multi celluloid bindings and inlays.
This particular example is all original “One Owner’ guitar and is a very special type with the rarely seen active circuit and rotary selector ( cream chicken head knob) which gives choices of active, passive or OFF.  Although I suspect that the type of battery used in these were from the 1950’s and most likely a type that is no longer made. More homework needed and if anyone out there with one of the early active models can assist with battery information it will be greatly appreciated.
This 1961 made guitar has an internal pencil date 19/2/61, pot codes also indicate 1961.
Everything on this guitar is in great collector grade order for the age. Original neck fitting and does not require a reset. The bridge, staple and screw humbucker pickups with narrow frames, tuners, clear guard, electrics, narrow control panel with a gold capped radio knob for neck and bridge pickups, even the knobs are all original.
