This Maton Leaderman 725 .
Maton made a range of three guitars commencing in 1964 and ending in 1966 using a “Square” Stratocaster style shape
to continue the successful “FyrByrd” series .
They were designated the ‘Fyrbyrd 12/20 ( 12 string ), the “Fyrbyrd” 6.50 (6 string )and the Leaderman.
The Leaderman was the cheapest of the three having two pickups, not three,
and a Fender style (though not through the body) tremolo, where the other two came with “Bigsby” tremolo’s.
This example is is almost entirely original except for a tuner gear screw.
It is in excellent original condition, showing some wear, lacquer checking and some scratching.
It also has all decals and tremolo cover and is in the excellent original Stamford shaped hardcase with and original thin leather strap.
Although manufacture spanning some three years, only 231 were made.
