Description

This Ibanez Les Paul Custom is possibly one of the last production of the famous law suit era Ibanez copy guitars prior to Ibanez changing to their new design headstock
Model 2386
It is rare to find one with the set neck as most to this date and earlier were bolt on neck with 4 screws and the neckplate. Toward the end of production for the copy series Ibanez and other companies were so famous for, this guitar, certainly from a few steps back, looks and feels very much like the USA genuine Gibson original guitars.
Right down to binding nibs on the fingerboard edges. No wonder there were legal battles.

This guitar has quality original Gotoh Star tuners. The classic Les Paul custom design face plate. Original pickguard, original medium low, wide frets,
The vintage Ibanez Maxon Zebra humbuckers date to Oct 75.  The pots and control knobs are also original.
The original tailpiece and bridge shows expected pitting and play wear consistent with what can be expected for an original played instrument form the mid-seventies.
A wonderful playing and sounding guitar, a straight neck.
The guitar has had some edge lacquer chips and repair from case latch rubbing but quite professional and acceptable.  As you can see this example has been played and yet well cared for and appreciated. There are some areas of the multi binding that indicate some less than perfect attention to detail in production or performed late on a Friday just before factory closing but it did make it through to the final sale, so….it certainly is unique and a treasure.
